Personality
Feb. 13th, 2012 09:37 pmSullivan can come off as being a little bland. He's still adjusting to his freedom, and learning to interact with others outside of his friends/teammates...but still has only a base concept of proper behavior when interacting. He may invade someone's personal space because he doesn't know better or say something better left unsaid. Mildly curious about most things, he likes to listen to others talk and he tends to try to explore with his other senses things that really interest him. Anger and sadness aren't something he's experienced much yet...though annoyance, displeasure, and disappointment are. He also knows little of fear, which isn't because he's really brave or stupid, he just hasn't met much to be afraid of...though the Nocturnus Clan laboratories and the Gizoids scare him because of extended captivity there. He knows caution very well.
Usually mellow and more than a little naive, he's generally willing to take things at face-value when it doesn't pertain to work. When focused or working he may become near-silent and much more focused. Nothing matters but the task at hand and he hates obstacles and distractions. He's much less trusting during these moments and may snap at others if he's pushed, literally or not. Under most circumstances, he gets most of his guidance from his friend Locke. Things like learning fun come from Meir and Tanner, though he does occasionally butt heads with the latter.
Because his eyesight is incredibly poor, he never seems to be looking at anything directly unless it's right in front of his nose. He relies heavily on his other senses, which are above average, and his connection to the Voxai, Banjul, to compensate for his handicap. In the case of his hearing, he dislikes loud noise, especially unexpected or unnecessary loud noises and if it's bad enough may become irritable or unreasonable. Banjul allows him the occasional gift of sight through her eyes when their minds merge. He can read braille and does enjoy the tactile form of receiving information greatly. The Nocturnus tech he wears for work, though outdated, allows him to phase through surfaces, resist having his energy leeched, and move quickly with the wheels in his shoes.
